#1 After reading “what is pop culture”, I learned pop culture isn’t fixed in a time, it is changing. However, it is more interested by people than high culture because pop culture is made by people for themselves, and it can reflects people’s daily life. High culture is fixed in time,but it is difficult for people to understand and it only suitable for the people who has good taste. Compared with high culture,pop culture is suitable for most people.
#1 When researched the information about the fad in 1980’s and listened the fads my classmates presented in class,I took many notes in order to get a deep understanding of that. #2 Besides,I found that something was a fad at that time,though it would be outdated soon. It will popular again after a period. Then,I get an Aha moment,the fashion never will be outdated and something was popular will be popular again. For example,the big hair was very popular in 1980’s,then it was outdated. As time went by,people improved this style and made the roll smaller, then the“big hair”is popular again in many places.
#3 I think the bumper sticker of this unit is “the popular culture and popular star”. First,we learned pop culture ,and the people is one of the four elements of pop culture. Second, we did much research about pop star and “what makes a star”. When I working with my teammates to do the team project,I searched music and movies and events. Then,I know more popular singers and actors and actresses. What’s more,from the research,I get a better understanding of the star’s experience. It is not easy to be a star,you need to work hard and have a strong heart to bear the misunderstandings and gossips. Like the pop star I chose,Kristen Stewart who is a homosexual. She pursue a happy life and her true love without care of other people’s views. I think it is the positive energy from a star. Just do anything you want to do and lead a happy life through your hard working.
#4 However,I didn’t know that why don’t we learn more about the popular events. If we learn more about these,we can have a better understanding of our society’s history,then we can adapt to this new environment better.
