Reflection
In these weeks,I have learned much things about "culture". Because I don't have enough understanding about American culture,I needed to research it online and read the paper of the assignment again and again. Besides,I needed to watch many videos to get deeper understanding of culture. Then,I completed "What Is Culture",cultural identity poster and so on. After getting the deeper understanding and completing those projects,I discussed it with my classmates.
At last,I learned a lot! For example,I know how to avoid the culture shock. Culture shock is defined as disorientation experienced when suddenly subjected to an unfamiliar culture or way of life. I am new here,so when I know what is culture shock,I was very eager to get a deeper understanding about it and how to make me feel better. Except the information my teacher gave me,I search it online. Then I got the solution. My aha moment was that I need to make more friends and take an active part in the activities here. It was shock me,because I am shy and I don't like going out to have some activities,I prefer to stay at home to comfort myself how to overcome the sadness from culture shock.
I think "the process of culture integration"is a good bumper sticker of this unit. Because the culture shock is included it. When we are going to know the meaning of this bumper sticker,we need to know the meaning of culture and the culture in different countries and so on. However,I didn't know that how to keep my former culture well in the process of culture integration. If I could be given good suggestion. I will use this skill to spread the essence of my former culture and learn more about the essence of the culture from different countries. To make a contribution to culture integration and make different culture has its own color.
